E-Business creates new opportunities that were never realized
before the Internet. Better access to information, improved
productivity and online commerce are all solutions that provide
competitive advantage and transform the smallest business into
a powerhouse. More and more, business professionals rely on
the Internet to conduct their daily activities. A growing number
of businesses are connected to the Internet at high-speed. Unfortunately,
existing high-speed business Internet access technologies are
costly. Many businesses cannot afford the overhead associated
with dedicated T1 connectivity. Furthermore, low speed connectivity
creates an additional cost burden in terms of poor employee
productivity. How many times have you watched your employees
wait while downloading a web page? A
REVOLUTION IS OCCURRING in the computing and communications
industries. The development of wireless devices allow users
to send and receive e-mail, browse the Web, obtain information,
trade stocks, conduct banking transactions and check travel
schedules much faster than ever before. The future
of wireless Internet connections in general is extraordinarily
bright. Wireless technology will do for computing what wireless
phones did for voice communications.
By 2004, the wireless subscriber
base worldwide is expected to reach 1.4 billion users, and
approximately 300 million users will be accessing the Internet
from some form of wireless appliance. It is likely that many
office places, homes, hospitals, universities, and public
buildings will offer a wireless environment for users to access
the Internet from within their facility using a palmtop or
notebook computer. This omnipresent computing environment
will clearly impact how we work, how we communicate and how
we conduct business. With its unlimited growth potential,
wireless technology is considered to be THE FUTURE OF INTERNET!
What
is it?
Wireless Internet is exactly what it sounds like, getting
your connection to the Internet, without the use of phone
lines. Data travels over high frequency radio waves at speeds
unobtainable by ISDN or even DSL. This type of connection
is up to 50 times faster than an analog modem and up to 12
times faster than a dual-channel ISDN connection. Files download
in seconds, as opposed to minutes or even hours, saving valuable
employee time. It provides an inexpensive, high-speed alternative
to the obsolete telephone network that was invented over 100
years ago, eliminating the hassles of modem dialing, busy
signals and frequent disconnects. It enables small to medium
sized business to provide low cost, high-speed Internet access
to its employees.
Security
Network security is a vital concern in most business applications.
The use of wireless LANs introduce some concerns since the
net traffic is in a public space. However, the security systems
afforded by wireless LANs are formidable and provide levels
of security that in many ways exceed the use of wire or fiber
optic cable.
The use of spread spectrum frequency hopping provides a relatively
secure channel by itself. The sender and receiver must be
synchronized to the same hop sequence in order to communicate
at all. Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum: this approach is
the technology just described. Data packets are spread over
short bursts of signal at different frequencies within the
wireless bandwidth. This avoids interference and requires
the receiver to be synchronized with the transmitter.

Speed
LemooreNet will provide a speed of 384k downstream
and above 128k upstream. It is possible, depending on how
many users are currently using the service, to burst at speeds
up to 1Mb. This service does not allow
you to host a server of any kind.
Installation
Unlike other Internet access options, Wireless Internet can
be installed within 10-14 business days of your request. Basic
installation takes 2 1/2 hours, anything over 2 1/2 hours
is $50 per hour. Our technicians will come to your location
and perform a site survey. At this time you will be made aware
of any potential problems that could arise (e.g., maturing
trees). Having a good line-of-site to one of our access points
will give you an extremely reliable connection.
Equipment
All necessary
equipment, with the exclusion of an Ethernet Networking Card,
is provided to you in the monthly service fee. All equipment
remains the property of LemooreNet.
IT IS THE CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO
TAKE ACTIONS TO SEE THAT NO DAMAGE CAN HAPPEN TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WE RECOMMEND UPS, SURGE SUPPRESSORS AS NEEDED. If equipment
is damaged (INCLUDING DAMAGES CAUSED BY POWER FAILURE) or
stolen, customer is responsible for an equipment replacement
fee of $2,500. Upon termination of service, all equipment
will be picked up by LemooreNet. You
must have a working Ethernet Networking card installed in
your computer prior to service installation. Click
here for a diagram of equipment installation.
Transfer
of Service
If, for any reason, you have to transfer your service to a
location other than the original installation location a $100
take down and $100 put up fee will be charged. This fee is
due and payable before transfer of service will be performed.
All wireless
accounts are subject to a two year contract. Your account
must be current and in good standing for a period of 2 years
beginning the date of installation or your account is in default
and remaining months are due and payable immediately. It
is required that power be supplied to your router and radio
at all times. If for any reason you need to disconnect
the power you must notify LemooreNet prior to doing so. The
first time power is disconnected without notification you
will receive a warning. There will be a $20
fee for any occurrence thereafter. This
service does not allow you to host a server of any kind.
