Movies in Time

I owe a great deal of gratitude to the History Channel.  It was the History Channel's movies in time series that introduced me to Sharpe and stirred my interest in the Napoleonic and Revolutionary wars.  The Sharpe series has been shown on the Movies in Time program hosted by Sandra Van Ocur.  I have been an avid fan of this program ever since.  Mr. Van Ocur interviews historians, authors, and eyewitnesses before, during, and after a historical movie is shown.  When the Sharpe series is shown, Bernard Cornwell gives commentary not only on the film but the books that he wrote upon which it is based on and the historical significance of the films.   Other great movies that have been shown include Zulu, Escape from Sorbivor, Charlamagne, and Patton.  The history channel also shows other great shows on history and battles.  I will try and post the dates and times of those shows that I believe others will enjoy on this site.  I am also including an autographed picture of Sandra Van Ocur on this site.  For more information on the History Channel's programming, you can check out their web site at the link listed below.
